The Magnitude 7.2 1929 Grand Banks earthquake - aftershocks and current activity
Five moderate to large-sized aftershocks were recorded in the month following the 1929 mainshock.
Several of these were felt by residents of Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. These aftershocks
have not been well studied due to the scarcity of seismographs operating at the time of the
earthquake. Note that all of the locations have been "fixed" or placed at the originally determined location of the mainshock.

The Laurentian Slope seismic zone continues to be active to this day.
Here is a map showing the past 10 years of low level seismic activity in the region.
The yellow star shows the location of the 1929 event.
